Coward & Black is a partnership between old school pals Patrick Coward and Martin Black, who grew up in the same street in Kewdale from the age of six, having both arrived in Australia as the children of British migrants. The pair bought the property in Wilyabrup in 1997 with a couple of other friends. After establishing the Chocolate Factory they then planted cabernet and shiraz, and later chardonnay, semillon and sauvignon blanc in Margaret River and in the early 2000s chenin in the Swan Valley. The wines are made at Fraser Gallop.
